The key to a successful summer is the quality of the staff. Maintaining a beautiful facility and implementing a dynamic program is only meaningful if our staff supports the mission of providing a safe and caring environment for our campers.
We understand how difficult it can be for parents to entrust their child to another’s care. As a result, we consider the selection of our staff to be our most important responsibility as directors.
At Perlman Camp, we are looking to hire mature, compassionate and responsible individuals who are dedicated to helping each camper find success at camp. Our staff love working with kids, and enjoy being outdoors and getting silly – since that is what camp is all about!
The majority of our staff at Perlman are alumni of our program, many of them having participated in our two-year Teen Leadership program. Additional staff join our team from countries including Israel, Australia, England, and more. Counselors must be high-school graduates, though many of our staff return year after year while in college. Our Leadership Team of supervisors are all at least 21 years of age, and many are teachers and parents themselves.
All Perlman staff candidates must complete a written application, a phone or in-person interview, submit references and undergo a comprehensive background check. Prior to arrival, staff go through the CampSafe child abuse prevention training.
