Transportation and Luggage

We can’t wait to welcome your campers on June 27th! Please read the information below carefully, as transportation information has changed from previous summers.

ARRIVAL

Arrival will take place on Sunday, June 27th between 10:30AM-1:30PM. Each family is assigned to a 30-min arrival window, which will be emailed to you. 

Assignments have been made based on the estimated driving time from your home to camp, and families driving from further away have been assigned a later time slot on Sunday. We understand that many parents will plan to spend a night in a hotel nearby rather than driving 10 hours in one day. However, as an additional COVID precaution, we strongly prefer that you plan to spend the night AFTER dropping your child(ren) off at camp. If this is not possible for your family and you need to request a different arrival slot, please email ariel@perlmancamp.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.

We will send detailed instructions for arrival at camp in the weeks prior to the start of the session.

LUGGAGE

We have partnered with Camp Trucking to provide you with an option to transport your child’s luggage to camp in advance of your arrival. We know this is a preference for many families – whether due to having multiple children in the car – or just to avoid the hassle of transporting it to camp yourself.

Camp Trucking will provide door-to-door service from your home directly to camp. Luggage will be picked up on or around June 23 (exact date and time TBD) and will be placed in your child’s bunk prior to their arrival at camp.

The cost of this service is $120 for one-way service to camp for up to two large bags (paid directly to Camp Trucking). For families with more than one child who opt-in to the service, Perlman will provide a credit on your account to help subsidize the cost of additional campers. Please email Ariel to discuss the subsidy if you are interested.

If you prefer to ship your bags to camp in advance, Lugless offers a convenient shipping option at prices lower than going directly through a shipping carrier. Using their service you can print your own shipping labels and drop off your bags at a UPS or FedEx location near you to have them delivered to camp. TRANSPORTATION HOME FROM CAMP

Rookie campers departing on July 11th will need to be picked up in the morning. More information on Rookie pickup will be sent out at a later date.

Buses home will be provided for campers at the end of First Session (July 23) and at the end of Full Session (August 13) to the following locations:

  • Rockville, MD
  • Paramus, NJ
  • Jericho, NY
  • White Plains, NY

There is no charge for bus service. The Transportation Form is now available in your CampInTouch account. Please login to your account to fill out this additional form, which is due June 1.
