A Note from the Director – October 2016
Dear Perlman Families,
I want to wish you all a sweet, healthy, and happy new year!
Around this time of year I always get asked by family and friends what it is that I do now that camp is over. My answer – we start all over again! As you all know, registration for Summer 2017 started on Visiting Day and continues through this busy early bird registration process. We are more than 15% ahead in early registrations compared to last year, a clear testament to how amazing #Perlman2016 was! We expect to start filling up bunks soon and will have waitlists for our biggest age groups – register now so you don’t miss out on your session of choice!
In addition to registering campers, our staff hiring process kicked off today. We look forward to interviewing and hiring many returning faces for Summer 2017. If you know someone who would make a great counselor have them apply today! Did you know we interview every returning applicant who applies to Perlman, even those who are coming back for their 3rd, 4th, or 10th summer at camp? It’s an opportunity for us to share feedback about their previous work, and discuss areas of growth and development. We also enjoy getting their thoughts on how we can continue to improve the camp experience.
This time of year is an important one for reflection, for ourselves personally, and also for the organization. Last month our team spend two days debriefing everything from bus stop logistics to Maccabiah, and everything in between. We combine this information with your feedback, for the sole purpose of identifying opportunities for growth and improvement in the coming year.
In the coming months we look forward to connecting with you via email, phone, and in person! Please keep in touch and let us know if you have any comments or suggestions. And as always, if you know of a potential camper we should meet – put us in touch!
