We are committed to ensuring that Perlman is affordable for all interested families, regardless of a family’s financial need.

Through the generous support of our alumni, friends, and board of directors, we are able to offer need-based assistance through our internal scholarship program. We profoundly believe in the power of Jewish Camp and are committed to making camp work for your family.

Our application process is electronic and is open now for the 2018 camp season. The initial deadline for completed applications is Friday, December 1, 2017. The committee will meet in the month of December to review your application and it is our goal to have awards sent out — in the regular mail — in early January, 2018.

We use a trust, but verify, method when it comes to reviewing your application. The application itself asks questions about your family’s current financial status, any extraordinary financial hardships you may have experienced in the past year. We verify this against your taxes and wage information, which is meant to be uploaded separately from the application. Your family’s privacy and the security of your personal documents is a responsibility that we take extremely seriously. Please do not hesitate to contact us at the camp office if you have any questions about the handling of your family’s personal information.

If your child is attending Jewish summer camp for the first time, they are likely eligible for a One Happy Camper grant. This program is designed to encourage Jewish families to choose Jewish camp for their children and is not need-based. The program is administered nationally by the Foundation for Jewish Camp and is supported in your local community by various partnering organizations. You can apply for this grant by visiting onehappycamper.org. Awards typically range from $700 – $1000 depending on whether or not your camper is the first in their family to apply for funding.

In addition to direct financial assistance, having a degree of flexibility in your monthly payment for camp can make a tremendous difference. Regardless of whether or not your family is participating in our scholarship program, your family is invited to setup a payment schedule. There is no additional charge for this option.

Quick notes:

  • The application must be completed in one sitting — due to platform and security constraints, you cannot save and return to your work. There is information on the first page of the application that explains all of what you will need to complete the application.
  • In situations where parents are separated/divorced, but share custody of campers, both parents should complete their own Financial Aid application, should both parents be interested in assistance.
  • For “new” families applying for the One Happy Camper grant, the committee generally takes the additional $700/$1000 award into account when calculating your Perlman financial aid request.

Please let us know if you have any specific questions or would like to setup an individual family conversation.

Thank you and Happy Camping!
