Our Staff

To apply for a summer position with Perlman Camp, please complete our Staff Application.

At Perlman Camp, we know that our staff is critical to the success of our program. We pride ourselves on our extremely high staff-to-camper ratio and every summer welcome over 200 individuals from around the world to share their knowledge, experience and culture.

Staff members are selected based on their talents and skills; demonstrated levels of maturity, responsibility and dependability; programming and leadership expertise; ability to relate to and care for children; and sincere commitment to helping campers experience a summer of fun…a lifetime of memories!

Each potential hire is carefully screened, personally interviewed and individually evaluated on their ability to serve as a role model for children. Positive references and background checks are also required. Once at camp, a 7-day, intensive, pre-camp orientation and training program prepares new and returning staff for their summer experience. Throughout the summer, staff are continuously evaluated and provided with feedback designed to enhance their performance.

Our counseling structure allows staff to specialize in the areas in which they are most qualified and comfortable. General Counselors accompany campers throughout their daily activities while Activity Counselors provide specialized instruction in their activity area. Both General and Activity Counselors are assigned to live with campers and participate in meals, evening activities, trips and special events with their bunks.

Each Division is closely supervised by a Division Leader who oversees the day-to-day activities of campers and staff and ensures a safe and successful environment for everyone.

Our Leadership Team coordinates the daily operation of camp and maintains the high quality program we demand. The team includes the Director, Associate Director, Assistant Director, Division Leaders, Area Supervisors and representatives of our medical, office, and support staff, all of whom are professionals committed to providing campers with the ultimate camp experience.
