Facilities

Nestled on 400 beautiful acres in the Pocono Mountains, lush fields, pristine forests and a spring-fed lake surround a campus of outstanding facilities designed to support our wide variety of programs and activities and the needs of our campers and staff.
Bunks
Campers live in rustic cabins with contemporary full bathrooms, private showers, electricity and plenty of closet and cubby space. Each cabin accommodates approximately 10-14 campers and 2-4 staff members. All cabins are equipped with fire and smoke detection devices.
Canteen
Campers have ample opportunity throughout the summer to visit the camp canteen where they can purchase stamps, toiletries, camp clothing, drinks, ice cream and other tasty treats.
Chapel
The Burman Chapel sits beside the lake and is perfect for small group events, Rainy Day programs and Evening Activities.
The Chapel overlooks a raised garden bed which is filled with beautiful summer flowers and vegetables and herbs that are used in our Kitchen. Adjacent to the garden is a newly revitalized gathering area with stone fire pit and amphitheater-style seating. Known as the āOld Unit 1 Meeting Area,ā it was recently renamed in honor of the late, long-time Perlman Camp Facility Manager Ike Dummond and his wife.
Dining Hall
Nutritious and tasty meals are prepared fresh daily and served family style from our kosher kitchen. Menus feature a variety of 'kid-oriented' entrees and are reviewed by a food service professional. In addition to salad bars at lunch and dinner, vegetarian and lactose-free entrees are always available. The sizeable kitchen and generous dining space allow us to continue the Perlman Camp tradition of all campers and staff gathering to eat meals together. Meal times also allow for songs, cheers, announcements and birthday celebrations.
Health Center
Our Health Center includes a triage area, air-conditioned treatment rooms and 14 beds for campers-in-need. It is staffed 24 hours per day by a professional team of registered nurses and an in-camp licensed physician. Two daily health calls and a precise medication dispensing system are monitored by our Head Nurse. A full-time Social Worker play an important role in the well-being of our campers and function as part of our medical team. Three modern, fully equipped hospitals are within close driving distance of camp.
Lakeside Amphitheater/Campfire Site
This beautiful area has been recently renovated to include a large stage and seating for 500 people. Campers and Staff are able to gather here for a variety of exciting programs, memorable performances and beautiful lakeside Friday Evening Services.
Waterfront
Campers enjoy our Pool - with water slide - for both instructional and free swim. At our Private Spring-Fed Lake, they can bounce on the Water Trampoline, climb up and slide down the Iceberg or jump off of the Blob. While some campers enjoy motorboat tubing, others prefer to explore the lake aboard our canoes, kayaks, sailboats, rowboats and paddleboats. Certified lifeguards and water safety instructors strictly supervise all waterfront areas at all times.
Outdoor Adventure
Perlmanās outdoor adventure program includes a unique and highly effective ropes course experience that combines the benefits of Low Ropes Teambuilding and High Ropes Challenge courses. Our outdoor adventure specialists, trained and certified each summer in
challenge course safety and group dynamics, guide groups through a program designed to enhance learning and teamwork through physical activity and fun. Participants are engaged in an unforgettable experience that sparks creativity, fosters synergy and builds camaraderie. Campers discover new insights and skills and are encouraged to translate their experiences back to their lives at home and school.
The low ropes course includes elements specifically designed for team building and is primarily used to establish trust and encourage leadership among bunkmates. The course compels campers to utilize creative problem-solving skills across a variety of challenges. The high ropes course includes a 40-Foot Climbing Tower, Giant Swing, Zip-Line and 4 other high rope elements that enable campers to experience their own success in the context of their own aspirations. The ropes course experience gives campers the opportunity to gain the skills they need to achieve more than they ever thought possible and leave with a bonding experience unlike any other.
Our outdoor climbing tower and Indoor Climbing Wall are extremely popular with campers. Both are designed, built and maintained by technical experts according to industry standards and staffed by trained staff members who encourage campers to challenge themselves to exceed their limitations and reach new heights (literally!).
The most recent addition to our Outdoor Adventure Program is a 50 foot high, 600 foot long Dual Zip Line (the only one like it in the country!) that safely soars campers across the lake.
The Overnight Camping/Campfire Site is less than a mile from the center of camp and the primary location for overnight camping trips led by our Outdoor Adventure Staff. The Nature Center is the cornerstone of our Jewish Environmental Education Program which teaches campers to care for the earth and its inhabitants.
Athletics
Our outstanding athletic program is supported by first-class facilities that allow campers to learn and play on lighted Tennis and Basketball Courts, lush Soccer and Lacrosse Fields (also used for flag football, track & field events and more!), sandy Beach Volleyball Courts and well-groomed Softball and Baseball Diamonds. Our Roller Hockey Rink, Gaga Pit (for Israeli Dodgeball), Archery Range, Golf Training Area and Gymnastics Pavilion provide countless individual and team sport opportunities for campers of all skill levels.
Our spacious Indoor Gymnasium can accommodate a variety of athletic and supplementary programs. In addition to being home to our brand new indoor climbing wall, it is a popular area for rainy day and special event activities.
Arts
Our spacious Arts & Crafts and Ceramics Studio provides the perfect work space for our creative arts program. Campers enjoy a wide variety of activities including candle making, lanyard, paper mache, tie-dye, weaving, beading, leatherwork and silk screening projects. Perlman Campās āArt Shackā also features pottery wheels and a kiln. Our arts program is enhanced by a Woodshop, Photography Darkroom and Teaching Kitchen, creating a variety of opportunities for artistic exploration.
Our performing arts have their own fantastic facilities as well! The Music Room, equipped with a variety of instruments, is a place where campers can explore their musical talents, receive specialized instruction and even perform with the camp band. The two-room Recording Studio is a popular place with campers and staff alike. Our state-of-the art equipment allows real ārock starā recording sessions with memories that last a lifetime! WBBPC 101.3 FM is our very own camp Radio Station with a modern studio that allows campers to learn first-hand about broadcasting equipment and skills. Campers create and produce their own commercials, skits, talk shows and music programs. They learn interviewing techniques and audition for spots on the popular āMorning Show.ā Sessions are taped and played during off-hours for campers and staff who tune in from their bunks. Sobel Hall is a multi-functional space used as our camp theater - - complete with sound system, theatrical lighting and modular stages to complement our performing arts program.
